I just got back from seeing the Transformers. The movie’s great! The special effects, the acting, the story all jelled. Nary a false noted was sounded. Almost constant action with edge of your seat excitement throughout, combined with a generous amount of humor made for an excellent evening at the theater.
This one will definitely find a place on my video shelf as soon as it comes out.

Went to see Fantastic 4: Raise of the Silver Surfer yesterday (7/1/2007). I liked it. Needless to say the effects were fantastic. The acting and the story were well done and faithful to the original story I read almost 40 years ago. I also really liked the commentary on society”s obsession with celebrity doings at the expense of other things, even the end of the world.
The story though well known to fans of the comic had been tweaked enough to be up to date without losing the essence of the original. Although I’m not generally a fan of sequels, this one wasn’t bad. Hopefully, we won’t be drowned in sequels since they tend to suck the air out of space needed to produce new ideas.
